Android 12 developer preview experience: interface UI renewed

News for Android 12 developer preview experience: Larger versions of native Android are updated every year, and the sound volume seems to be minimal and normal. At least in the minds of most normal users. It used to be a leading role. But now it follows and complements. People no longer expect to see many new things in the larger version. But pray that new features can be supported as soon as possible. So that more third-party systems can be easily adapted.

However, in the eyes of developers or geeks, the major version of Android is still a weather pane. Which cannot be remembered every year. Geek Choice upgraded the recently released Android 12 Developer Preview Edition (upgraded model: Pixel 4 XL) for the first time. What are its notable updates? Let’s look together below.

Interface UI changes

I talk about those places. Those can be seen first. After pulling down the notification to call the shortcut switch, you can see. That the background without the button is blue. If you open an option in Settings. So you can also see the blue background below.

This seems a little change, but it may be in preparation for the previously uploaded new theme mode. Shown in the leaked screenshot. That Android 12’s theme color can be changed with wallpaper, and blue is Android’s default color.

After the notification is pulled down, the background change is changed from the previous dark blur to the current semi-transparent light blur.

Some important switches in the settings, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, will display connection status in the options box, which is more intuitive.

Dark mode becomes more gray. You can see the shortcut switch and changes in the notification bar. But the settings menu has not changed yet. I think this is not correct. Pure black background may not look good. Many third-party systems already support dark-level adjustment. We also support this for Android 12.

There are 4 × 5 options in desktop grid size, a small update.

Like the notification shade, the lock screen now has a translucent layer in the background. The animation also seems to be a little bouncer for pattern unlock.

Keep going on notification

Each time a major version is upgraded. So Google will take action on the notification, which has become a common practice. This time, the changes in Android 12 are not so big. The notification icon has changed from the top left display to the left display, which is more prominent.

After clicking on the notification, there is an additional “notification snooze” option. Which can temporarily terminate the notification and display after a few hours. This is not a new feature, but it requires swiping to display, and now it is more convenient to click.

Among the developer options are adaptive notification priority and adaptive notification options. Android 12 has added the “Reset Notification Importance Level”. Which allows the phone to remodel its habits and receive notifications quickly.

I think Android 11’s music control is a very good feature. Which can display the controls of various music apps in an integrated manner. This feature is being adapted to Android 12. The album’s image is magnified, and the playback device has removed the text and simplified it into an icon.

Also, in the settings, you can choose freely. That which music the app controls to display.

Small function follow-up and supplement

In terms of system interactions, the logic of full-screen gestures is further optimized. When the picture was first opened on full screen. So the swipe gesture will only exit the full-screen display, but cannot exit the desktop completely. Now you can do it in one step. If you want to return to the previous step. So you can swipe inward from the left and right sides.

There is another display mode in the settings menu. Which needs to be turned on by the adb command.

adb shell settings put global settings_silky_home true

After turning it on, enter the sub-menu, and the category name is displayed in capital letters on the left.

After taking a screenshot, the editing menu has many more functions, and any operation of sharing pictures can trigger this editing option.

Among the accessibility options, similar to Brightness Adjustment, there is an option to reduce Brightness. Which can be triggered by a shortcut operation.

The zoom function has more options for partial zooming.

New Lockscreen and Notifications UI

There are more features that need to be turned on in a special way. Or you only see the code, and cannot be used in the preview version. For example, new lock screen UI, brightness slider, scroll screenshot, smart stack widget similar to iOS 14, automatic notification options, privacy permission display, and shortcut switch, back tap, and new theme mode as previously mentioned.

How to upgrade?

Let’s talk about how to upgrade. This time, the Android 12 Developer Preview version supports the Pixel 3 series and above. First, click on the version number to open the developer options. Turn on USB debugging, and enable OEM unlocking. After installing the driver and connecting the data cable, install it with the official online tool Android Flash Tool. Note that there is a progress bar in the middle of it. Which does not move. Please wait patiently and do not work, and installation. Be completed soon.

The Android 12 Developer Preview version is not for users this time, and does not have many new features. Which can be viewed. Most of them are follow-up and complimentary, as well as open interfaces for developers. There are still expectations, such as a new theme model, but this is not yet correct. We will continue to pay attention to the follow-up upgrade to Android 12, and more news will be shared with you over time.
