MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 technology to customers and related products will be available in 2023

MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 technology to customers and related products will be available in 2023: On January 19 news, according to MediaTek’s official website, MediaTek, today announced the world’s first live demonstration of Wi-Fi 7 technology, showcasing the capabilities of its upcoming Wi-Fi 7 Filogic connectivity product portfolio.

MediaTek said it is currently showing two Wi-Fi 7 technology demonstrations to key customers and industry partners to highlight the technology’s ultra-fast speeds and low-latency transmissions.

Alan Hsu, Vice President and General Manager, Smart Connectivity Business, MediaTek, said: “The launch of Wi-Fi 7 will mark the first time that Wi-Fi has truly become a wired/Ethernet alternative. MediaTek’s Wi-Fi 7 technology will be The backbone of industrial networking and provides seamless connectivity for everything from multiplayer AR/VR applications to cloud gaming and 4K calling to 8K streaming.”

MediaTek’s demo showed how its Wi-Fi 7 Filogic technology achieves the maximum speeds defined by IEEE 802.11be and showcased its Multi-Link Operation (MLO) technology.

What makes Wi-Fi 7 unique is that it provides brand-new capabilities for the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz spectrums used by Wi-Fi. Even with the same number of antennas, Wi-Fi 7 will be 2.4 times faster than Wi-Fi 6 because Wi-Fi 7 can utilize 320Mhz channels and support 4K QAM technology.

Wi-Fi 7 is unique in that it offers completely new capabilities in all the available spectrums for Wi-Fi uses, including 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz. Wi-Fi 7 will deliver 2.4X faster speeds than Wi-Fi 6 – even with the same number of antennas – since Wi-Fi 7 can utilize 320Mhz channels and support 4K quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) technology. Other notable features of Wi-Fi 7 include MLO to reduce latency by transmitting Wi-Fi on multiple bands, in addition to multi-user resource unit (MRU) features for enhanced interference avoidances and mitigation.

Products with Wi-Fi 7 are expected to hit the market starting in 2023.
